Privacy Policy

This Policy explains what personal information ChatSPF may collect and how it is used for AI sun planning, SPF recommendations, reminders, and profile features.

01
Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how ChatSPF collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our websites, apps, quizzes, AI chat, sun plans, reminders, and related services.

ChatSPF is designed around sensitive wellness context, including sun exposure, skin tone, location, and SPF recommendations. We aim to collect only what is needed to provide and improve the Service.

02
Information you provide
  • Account and contact information, such as email address, name, login method, and support messages.
  • Quiz and profile information, such as skin tone, tanning goals, current SPF or skincare products, sun habits, skin reaction, event timing, skin type, and preferred location.
  • Photos or selfies if a photo-based feature is enabled and you choose to upload one.
  • AI chat messages, prompts, questions, and feedback you send to ChatSPF.
  • Marketing preferences, notification preferences, and consent choices.
03
Information collected automatically
  • Device and browser information, such as device type, operating system, browser type, language, app version, and screen size.
  • Usage information, such as pages viewed, buttons clicked, quiz progress, session events, and feature interactions.
  • Technical logs, such as IP address, timestamps, diagnostics, crash data, and security events.
  • Approximate location derived from IP address, and precise location only if you grant device permission.
  • Cookies, local storage, or similar technologies used for login, preferences, analytics, security, and product performance.
04
Selfies, skin tone, and sensitive information

If you use a selfie or image feature, ChatSPF may process the image to estimate visible skin tone, Fitzpatrick-type indicators, sun-sensitivity context, or related profile signals.

We do not use selfies to identify you, verify your identity, build face-recognition templates, or make decisions about employment, insurance, credit, housing, or healthcare eligibility.

Unless a feature clearly says otherwise, original selfies are processed only as long as needed to provide the requested analysis, security, troubleshooting, or legal compliance.

We do not sell your personal information and do not use sensitive personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

05
How we use information
  • Create and personalize your sun profile, UV risk profile, SPF recommendations, tanning plan, reminders, and AI chat responses.
  • Save your account, sync your profile, respond to support requests, and communicate important service or safety notices.
  • Improve accuracy, reliability, design, performance, and safety of ChatSPF features.
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, bugs, and misuse.
  • Analyze aggregate usage trends and understand which features are helpful.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
06
Legal bases for EEA and UK users

Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal information based on one or more legal bases: performance of a contract, your consent, our legitimate interests, legal obligations, and protection of vital interests where relevant.

Consent-based processing may include precise location, selfie-based analysis, marketing messages, and certain sensitive-data uses. You can withdraw consent where the law gives you that right.

07
How we share information

We may share information with service providers that help operate ChatSPF, such as hosting, database, authentication, storage, analytics, email, push notification, support, AI model, weather, UV index, and security providers.

We may share information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

We may share information with your consent or at your direction. We do not sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

08
Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Service, maintaining your account, improving features, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and meeting legal obligations.

Profile data and chat history may be kept while your account is active. Diagnostic logs are generally kept for shorter periods. Original selfies should not be retained longer than needed unless a feature or consent choice clearly requires retention.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it, de-identify it, or aggregate it where reasonable.

09
Your choices and rights
  • You can request access to, correction of, deletion of, or export of personal information associated with your account.
  • You can withdraw consent for optional features such as precise location, marketing, or selfie-based analysis where applicable.
  • You can disable device location permissions in your browser or device settings.
  • You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those emails, while still receiving necessary service messages.
  • You can control cookies through browser settings, though some features may stop working without required cookies or local storage.
10
California privacy rights

California residents may have rights to know, access, delete, correct, and receive information about certain data practices. They may also have rights to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information and to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information.

ChatSPF does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

11
EEA, UK, and similar privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal information; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

Some rights are limited by law and may depend on the purpose and legal basis of processing.

12
Children

ChatSPF is not directed to children under 13 and should not be used by children under 13. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without required parental consent, we will delete it.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to ChatSPF, contact us at [email protected].

13
Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee perfect security.

If a security incident affects your personal information, we will take steps required by applicable law, which may include notifying you or regulators.

14
International transfers

ChatSPF and its providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from your local laws.

Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
